CONDO MANAGEMENT SERVICES regs 2016/12/20 16:22
1- Where are the MAIN ACT 'S Regs-to-be ( about the substantive legislation ) ? When will they be released for comment or whatever ? Prescribed Regs are the 'devils in the details' .

2 - Anyway, this concerns only ONE of the sets of provincial Regs planned to be prescribed under the PCOA ( The Protecting Condominium Owners Act, 2015 ("PCOA") assented on December 3, 2015).

On this one the Province invites comments by FEBRUARY 6 2017 for implementation in 2017.

The legislators on Hearings Committee disregarded some insightful input about PCOA itself. Will this be different ?

The ministry will continue to work in 2017 on the development of future phases of regulations to support the implementation of the CMSA. The province will continue to consult with members of the public and stakeholders during the development of regulations and implementation of this important legislation. . . .

PURELY RESPONSIVE enforcement to occur - new Manager Overseer 2017/12/01 15:12
CondoBusiness editor Michelle Ervin quotes new CMRAO Chair Aubrey LeBlanc in Oct 31/17 article

"Regulator will not actively seek complaints" #.WfixGWhpnBc.twitter

“We’re not actively seeking complaints" attributed at a CAI Canada seminar about condo manager licensing. “We could spend lots of money on promoting the issue. We are not planning to do that.”

What a relief ! !

At least attention will be paid to fending off what might get deemed frivolity or purely inter-personal beefing . . .

Didn't reform take such a general direction in Florida where actual criminal charges were eventually even laid against state employees themselves ? A grand jury even delivered corruption indictments against that state's regulatory body . . . But that's Florida, not Ontario.

What could possibly require a policy of self-generated investigations around here ?
