Considering the vital importance of Boards of Directors, helping them must be one of the priorities for any organization concerned about well being of Condominium Corporations and Communities. Therefore CAFCOR is launching a new initiative tentatively called “Directors Corner”. We are planning to have a series of venues that will help Board Members to organize themselves and to provide them with guidance and help.

To start with, this Forum was created as a place to share experience and to discuss issues faced by Board Members every day in their demanding and often not appreciated work.

The forum is intended to focus on issues specific to the work of Condominium Boards but it is going to be open to everybody.

I was going to post a problem here on this forum, and was happy to see its existence. I changed my mind on reading the objectives.
My experience in the other forum is that some (hopefully just one) person , who is not a director, insists that all directors are criminals and opressive.
I hoped that in this directors' corner we can eliminate this negativism toward us, and can deal with the problems we are faced with, instead of engaging in futile arguments.
But allowing others than directors to participate in this group is defeating the purpose.

Hi Masel,

I respectfully disagree with the above because:

1. It would practically difficult to verify that someone is a director. Would there be a requirement that the board sends an official letter to CAFCOR's admin? I don't think that this is really doable.

2. I think it is good that everybody can see what kind of problems directors are facing and hopefully there will be more appreciation for their work.

Let's just hope that this "Corner" will will function in the spirit of cooperation and self-help and focus on real, important issues and not personal ones.
