Welcome condominium unit Owners and concerned Directors,

In December of 2006, a group of concerned condominium unit Owners from Corporations across Ontario began to discuss the need for an organization with a central site where other unit Owners could access, and benefit from, the wealth of information and experience  found within our own ranks. We decided that the time had come for us to consider a "not-for-profit" organization whose sole objective would be to help "unit Owners". That decision bore fruit in April, 2007 with the birth of CAFCOR. Because our executive committee members volunteer their time in service on many fronts in our battle for Owner rights and given the number of unit Owner problems brought to our attention weekly, we must realize our limitations. Therefore, at present, we must focus our collective resources and experience on the condominium situation as it presents itself to unit Owners in our home province. Of course, CAFCOR receives requests for assistance from Owners in many of Canada's provinces who find themselves faced with like problems and we will endeavour to assist where and when we can. It is our sincere hope that condominium unit Owners from across the country will join us in our common struggle for legislative and regulatory reform in each and every province and territory. CAFCOR neither endorses nor opposes any political party but will publicly endorse or oppose particular legislative and regulatory initiatives which, in our opinion, affect the rights and interests of unit Owners.

CAFCOR exists because of:
  • the Government of Ontario's failure or refusal to address and protect the interests of condominium unit Owners.
  • the inability of condominium unit Owners to access assistance of any kind in a timely and affordable manner.
  • the lack of accountability of Boards of Directors and Property Management Companies to condominium unit Owners.
  • the inability of condominium unit Owners to counter oppressive tactics used against them by their Boards of Directors.
