As Provincial Governments do not enforce their own "condominium" laws, much less commit to a "central registry of Condominium Corporations", CAFCOR felt compelled to find out exactly how many Corporations there are in Ontario. A CAFCOR member spent an entire day and a half on the telephone with every single "Land Registry" and "Land Titles" Office in the Province. The result? As of February 7th, 2007, In Ontario alone there were 8,636 registered Condominium Corporations. ....
The Canadian Alliance for Condominium Owners' Rights has been founded to ensure that unit Owners have a collective voice at the table. We are an organization of unit Owners dedicated to the service of all unit Owners. As of February 7th, 2007, In Ontario alone there were 8,636 registered Condominium Corporations.

ImageBeing the Owner of a condominium unit, you will be well aware of the need for changes to the current Legislation and Regulations in the areas of "access to records", "reserve funding and expenditures", "access by Owners to timely and affordable dispute resolution mechanisms", "use of proxies", "election and terms of directors", "accountability of Boards" and "enforcement of provisions of the Act" by the Ministry of Government Services (see "a Message from the Government of Ontario" above). As we are the Owners of our units and Corporations, it is very important that our concerns be included in any review of the Act by the government. The Administration of the Condominium Act is funded by our money, and our money only.

The Canadian Alliance for Condominium Owners' Rights has been founded to ensure that unit Owners have a collective voice at the table. We are an organization of unit Owners dedicated to the service of all unit Owners. The governments of Ontario and of other provinces will not take the concerns of Owners seriously unless we can demonstrate a concerted effort to come together in considerable numbers. It is to this end that we invite you to join us in our effort to bring effective and positive changes to the Acts of each Province and Territory in order to protect our Owner interests and investments. Please encourage the Owners in your Corporation to join as well and feel free to contact us anytime with your suggestions, comments, questions or concerns.
